This is a project conducted in collaboration with Julia Chatain, Keny Chatain, Leon Calabrese, and Manu Kapur.

This is an ongoing project. The underlying idea is based on the assumption that any knowledge that we cannot perceive must be understood metaphorically (e.g. Niebert et al., 2012).

In my doctoral thesis, I explored how receiving haptic feedback in the form of resistance facilitates the learning of chemical concepts. Specifically, students could manipulate molecules on a computer screen with a haptic device that allowed them to always feel the force that would act on their selected atom.
